Fall Conferences to Focus on Supply Chain Trends and Commodities Outlook
PITTSBURGH – SCA Technologies, the leading provider of category sourcing and margin management solutions, announced its sponsorship of the National Restaurant Association’s Supply Chain Management Executive Study Group fall meeting set for October 20-21, 2014 in Orlando, FL. This event is held in conjunction with the Market Vision Fall Purchasing Conference, a forum focused on the outlook for purchasing foodservice commodities, which SCA is also sponsoring.
The NRA’s Supply Chain Management Executive Study Group examines emerging issues that affect restaurants, their suppliers and food served to guests. Since its inception, the Supply Chain Management group has focused on promoting dialogue and providing knowledge on the increasing cost of commodity and wholesale food prices, sourcing of ingredients and traceability of products for its members. As the largest foodservice trade association in the world, the National Restaurant Association (NRA) supports nearly 500,000 restaurant businesses.
SCA Technologies helps restaurant chains overcome supply chain challenges and improve margins by optimizing sourcing and supply planning. “Today costs are at an all time high for almost every ingredient in the kitchen,” commented Samarth Sarthi, CEO of SCA Technologies. “The pressure is on for restaurant chains to increase supply chain visibility, reduce risk and manage volatility.”
Immediately following the NRA meeting, Market Vision’s 27th Annual Fall Purchasing Conference will be held October 21-23 in Orlando, FL. Based on its ongoing commodity tracking and consulting services for chain restaurant companies, Market Vision helps restaurant companies absorb and interpret commodity market data, keeping restaurant chains proactive in their buying and contracting.
